One of the greatest conquerors in history and one of the greatest generals of all time, he owed his success not only to his abilities as a strategist, but also to the remarkable degree of centralized organization he able to impose on the Mongols; he added a heavy shock element to the traditional Mongol horse archers and instilled a sense of discipline that made the Mongol armies far superior to their opponents; not only were his conquests impressive, but the administration of the conquered lands was also just and efficient; altogether a remarkable individual.
